Portraits of People
When I was in
college, my main subject was the human figure drawn from life. Since none of my friends
and relatives would sit long enough for me, I often used myself as the model.
This is my son Frankie at
around one year of age. This particular picture won three Best in Show awards at Art
Shows.
This was a portrait of a friend's baby with her favorite poem added in calligraphy. She said the message would forever keep in perspective her role as a parent.
Barbara's Grandkids. In March of 2005, I was commissioned of the grandchildren as a gift to her daughter (the mother of the children). It had been a long time since I had done a portrait of humans and I was thrilled at the opportunity. Barbara gave me a photo of the two children, but the photo she liked was taken from the rear, so in order to show the faces of the two lovely children, I put their faces in the foam of the waves.
